These are some of the diseases we will study. 
Each student will be assigned a different disease.

Questions to Answer
Type or write your answers.  Write in complete sentences; use correct grammar, reflect the question, and punctuate properly.

  1. Briefly describe the disease.  Tell what makes it communicable or non-communicable.

2. What are three interesting statistics about the disease? Examples include:
How many cases have occurred in the past year, what countries does it occur in, or what age people/animals contract it?

3. What causes the disease? (Is it caused by a pathogen, virus, bacterium, other?) 
Find a picture of the virus or bacterium.

4. What body system or systems does it primarily affect?

5. What are the symptoms of the disease? What do doctors use to determine that someone has contracted the disease?

6. How do doctors treat the disease? (Include medicines, quarantine, or other modalities).

7. Is it contagious? How does it spread?

8. Is it curable?  Can the symptoms be alleviated, if not removed?  If so how is it cured?

9. How do you prevent the disease from spreading to others?

10.  What public health strategies have been developed to prevent diseases?

11. References will be submitted with the rough draft.

13.  Include a note taking sheet to distribute to your classmates.

Final Brochure due by January 27th

Your design must be unique and creative.
Your brochure will be printed on both sides of an 8 1/2” by 11” piece of paper folded into thirds.
List at least three typed references in MLA format.

Oral presentations will begin on January 20. 
(Your brochure may be updated after your presentation if you wish).*
